Examinations


TheAAD

Examinations are taken in ballet, tap and modern dance. All examinations are taken with the Association of American Dancing (AAD).

For ballet examinations students are expected to wear AAD regulation pink and grey ballet leotards. For tap examinations students are expected to wear AAD regulation grey and white tap leotards. These are all available from Katz Dancewear, Abbey Green, Nuneaton.

Boys should wear a plain white T-shirt, grey shorts and white socks

Ballet socks should be worn for the under 12’s and ballet tights or shimmer tights (for tap) for over 12’s. Ballet shoes should be pink satin and tied with ribbons or black leather for boys. Hair should be worn off the face (including fringes) in a bun or similar. Senior girls should wear makeup.

For modern dance or acrobatics students can wear a costume of their own choice. For help or advice on choosing an appropriate costume please see Miss Sharla or Miss Sally. Hair should be worn off the face as for other subjects and Senior girls should wear makeup.
